After teaching architecture for over 20 years & having been granted the honor of direct involvement in the restoration of many historical architectural gems, an evolving passion was ignited, which along with my love of poetry, provided me with the impetus for artistic creation. From caravanserais, public bath houses, bazaars, grand private homes, citadel cities, and ancient Persian gardens, to a simple broken ceramic tile, a couplet from a Persian poem, or even the dust which gracefully covers these historic buildings. Collectively, all of these things have been magnets which have attracted me to continue with this quest. My art is a personal relationship, and as diaspora, I have found that this allows me to reconnect with my roots and to travel back into those spaces which I love so dearly and to experience them again. My art is an integration of Poetry and Architecture. I also try to let my painting represent a combination of my roots with modern and contemporary art. Experimenting with form, giving attention to color and materials, concentrating on lyric, geometry and illusion, is core to my works. All my art work, which is for sale, is one-of-a-kind
