ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Persimmon 11 x 15" Mixed Media on Paper. 2021 This past summer, I worked on the painting series Queer Fruit. In the piece "Persimmon," I capture the feeling of a transformed, healed, and liberated body, one that embodies queer pride. The saturated and translucent pinks and opaque bold colours, speak to the powerful reclaiming agency that I hold over and within my body. By painting the interior of the body through an intuitive approach, I recover and connect to the deeper part of my true queer nature. * Framed upon purchase. Price of frame - included in the total. * Colors and details may vary from digital photograph to original artwork. All images copyright © of Nicole Melnicky.
