Italian artist After moving to Rome, Liberatore graduated in Painting and Drawing at the Accademia delle Belle Arti. Awarded with a scholarship, he also specialized in Old Pictorial Techniques in 2000. In the same year he painted a fresco portrait which was selected as a gift to Pope John Paul II during the Craftsman Jubilee. Rossano Liberatore’s painting and illustration works granted himself a vast number of exhibitions and publications at a national level. Since 2012 he collaborates with the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) as a lecturer in Visual Communication and Art History. Rossano Liberatore’s painting investigates the encounter between an external, environmental vision and an intimate, personal meditation. It aims to connect places and spaces and integrates them to moods and feelings: by redesigning nature it appears as transfigured in a meaningful portrayal through energetic signs and striking colours. The landscape thus becomes an opportunity to project abstract sensations, sometimes we may find quiet or serenity, some other times rather restlessness or tension. It is a painting of a somewhat informal origin that, in trying to reach a universal vision, also aims at sharing an environmental consideration, both aesthetic and conceptual: remodulated places, isolated marks, balanced spaces, planes of section, vertigos, slants, chromatic connections, geometrical layouts and talking shapes. Today Rossano works between Maratea and Salerno, where he holds a professorship in Drawing and Art History. https://vimeo.com/143768337
