MARCIN KĘDZIERSKI graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied at Graphic Arts Faculty. He earned his Graphic Arts Diploma from Mieczysław Wasilewski Media Art Studio. In years 1997-98, he completed Faculty of Painting led by Leon Tarasewicz. At the 36th. Poland-Nation-Wide Painting Contest "Bielska Fall - 2003", Kędzierski received distinction for his painting "Awaiting - Red" [Oczekiwanie czerwone]. Number of his artworks was displayed at exhibits of "Supermarket of Art" series in 2001 and 2002 (art gallery DAP OW ZPAP - Warsaw). Some of his more significant art exhibits are: "Figureheads" [Figuranci] - Center for Modern Arts [CSW] in Poznań 2002, "Images of City" [Obrazy miasta] - Warsaw University [UW] in Warszawa 2003, "Place of Residence" [Miejsce zamieszkania] - Baltic Gallery in Ustka 2005. City and its inhabitants are the focus of Kędzierski interests. Warsaw unoriginal scenes, such as a bus stop, a street or a subway are transformed into a setting for the common characters of Kędzierski images to take in existential shape. Artistic debut was marked exactly at the end of one and beginning of the new millennium, 1998-2001. Unlike his peers Kędzierski does not follow the journalistic trend of the time. He paints clips of everyday urban reality. Another theme is Blokowisko, Grand Ensemble of multi apartment complex, legendary "dwelling machine", utopia of modernist architecture, which was to serve people by providing with better life standards. In all sorts of ways, many Polish modern artists have been inspired and still are by grey, dirty and nameless. However, promising and optimistic comments and demonstration on existence for the future, within the walls built by functionalists of Le Corbiusier, are rare. In his witted ways, Kędzierski attempts to make you fall in love with the "concrete homeland". In his paintings, Kędzierski relates to Andrzej Wróblewski and Jarosław Modzelewski.
