Lee Reams is honored to have her work included in a new interntional book of 100 artists, with some of the world's greatest painters, including two of Oprah Winfrey's discoveries. The book is titled, "Contemporary Painters" written by Danijela Kracun and Charles McFadden, Schiffer Publishing and is available now in book stores and on . Reams has a background in commercial art and worked for several years in advertising and television. She is mainly self-taught; however, over the years she was able to study privately with two gifted artists whose work she admires. Lee paints with oils and prefers larger size canvas or linen surfaces. Her work can be identified by the exclusive use of palette knives. At times she implements a pointillist style and also works in the realm of linear dimensionality, using her own technique she defines as, "knife striking". The artist has refined her talent and her work has evolved through years of experience and by experimenting and testing methods of paint application. She has become adept in the use of palette knives and can implement any number of texture styles to integrate and enhance the final image with depth. Her paintings invite the viewer to take a closer look while inspiring a temptation to touch. She paints, "When light and nature inspire me." Viewers of her work often remark at the range of subjects. The similarities lie in the varied palette knife textures. Lee has won various awards and partakes in a limited and carefully selected number of art and gallery shows. She also sells her work by accepting commissions. Lee can be contacted at her studios in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tucson, AZ and through her website: .
