My painting depicts mutilation and the effect it will have, mental and or physical, on them. The eye of the world according to plastic surgeons, or other people, ready to ‘cut’ or mutilate the female genitals. It is repugnant when girls and women cannot be happy and get mutilated.

After finishing primary school, Harry took from 1958 till 1961 lessons at the school for design REX in Amsterdam. By working at the Godart studios in Amsterdam on projects for Philips, KLM and Michelin he received his first work experience. Through his practice with interior design, his carrier took on a commercial direction. In the mean time his profound interest in fine art made him study art with the art foundation "˜De Werkschuit', studio "˜van Gogh museum' and finally the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Harry specialised himself in portrait, model and fantasy. He studied with: Clemens Merkelbach: portrait Ursula de Boer: model Alex Lichtveld: water- colour Peter Doebele: graphic art Leo Schatz: painting Rik van Bentum: sculpturing During his study at the Academy, he was a member of the examination committee.
