Lovers Painting

Justyna Anthony was born in 1972 in Wroclaw. She studied Social Work at the University of Applied Science in Munich. A painter all her life, Justyna has been a full time artist since successful completion of her degree in 2006. “After my study I decided to follow my passion and became a full time artist. I was always a very creative person and have always loved painting. I cannot begin to think of my life without painting. Art is my passion, my love and my air.” Most of my works are dedicated to women. Every woman has a story to tell which is expressed by my brush. I love to paint women who have an inner strength and self-confidence, who understand their own needs and know their feelings, their targets and their motives. The know their strengths and weaknesses but also their beauty. The women in Justyna’s pictures often portray their fears, stress, fragility, tiredness or resignation. They show women who have given up all hope of a better future and also women who are still fighting for it. They sit on window ledges and on luxury couches, they drink wine, they smoke, they dance and are sometimes in their own “Dream Worlds”. Some are dreamers full of hope, some with no hope. Their personalities are betrayed not only in their faces but also in their posture, colour and tone. In Justyna’s world of art, you can find landscapes, flowers, animals, abstracts, sketches and collages. These are either realistic or unrealistic but always with fantastic colours. She uses mostly oil on canvas, but you can also find collages, sketches and watercolours.
