Part of the earlier painterly abstracts after De Kooning. Some image remnants and association do arise but I do believe these are subjective. I look for sustained mystery and the surprise I get when I view my work later on, if the painting manages to catch me of guard than thats a good indication ...

NY based artist working in oil and ink. Traditional in my choice materials and medium and grind my own colors. My work can divided in to two modes : Post Divisionist and Abstract Expressionist. Post Divisionism: The main point of the approach is to create a unified fabric of space, to have the figure part of the fabric of the plane and the space to almost warp in to the figure and to challenge the idea of negative vs positive space. The application of the paint is divisionist at the core ( using complimentary colors interlocking to create the desired tones). Abstract works: Leaning towards surreal, where there is an inclination towards a storyline but not in a way of a narrative. To me, its more like bits and pieces of memories interwoven with accidental gestures to create a unified atmosphere that gives me enough complexity to reduce (whether by overpainting/scumbling/glazing or scraping away) it to a desired effect as far as design. I see it as an epilogue thats open to an interpretation.
