This painting was inspired by my grand children. For their summer holidays they went up to the gem fields of northern New South Wales. Fossicking for gems is now a very favorable holiday event. When they came home, all their different finds were on display with excited children telling me how and when they found each gem. As a consequence of their excitement, I decided to make a painting about gems. This is how Green Aget was devised. The painting is another of my part fluid pours and part manipulated with a spatula. The total effect was outstanding. Just love the blended shades of the green and gold and alabaster. This painting is on board and is 60 cm high, 91 cm wide and 2.5 cm deep. It is finished with a high gloss varnish which enhances the color and protects the paint. On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette. His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured plaster bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination.
