at the begining
early close up
close up of the painting before I finished it
all 4- sides are painted around the edge, so the painting can be hung without a frame
This is a very abstract look at a person wearing a brown jacket and reaching or grabbing on one particular branch or bar of twisted metal or plastic.
I came up with the idea for this painting while watching the 10-pm world news one night. And thinking about how many people are trying to reach or grab for that next branch on a tree or run on a ladder. But just trying to move
 further ahead.
That is hidden in with a maze of twisted branches hanging above them.
The fact that the hand is colored blue and not real looking is from the idea that the world is mostly blue, as in sky and the oceans.
That is what the 10-pm news can do to you, this is what I was trying to show with this painting. But the few people I have shown this work to all have different idea of the meaning which makes it more interesting.
I also painted the edge of the canvas so it can be hung on a wall without a frame if you want to.

. Just in case you are wondering, the cat in the photo is a male Main Coon cat, less than one year old kitten, name Chester, he loves to be a little explorer, gets into everything. He is my good friend. Likes to sit and watch me paint. I now paint mostly with acrylics and I like to paint on canvases that are medium size. That can fit nicely in a hall way or living room to add some color and interest to a dull area. Color, as you can see by my paintings is a very important element to me. I like to expand ideas by playing with the colors in the painting. I will paint over a color if I don't think it works, and I spend a great deal of time planning each piece. I am painting or drawing mostly the time but many of my paintings are not finish works for several weeks. I can be reach also with a email. I live and paint in Fort Collins, Colorado near the mountains. I like this area to live in because it makes a great place to come up with ideas. I started drawing and painting at an early age but when I was in high school in the late 1960's that is when I really started painting with enamels and oil paints then. While I was in college I became interested in art and geometric drawing's. Then I realize I could paint in a more " Geometric Abstraction" way. I learn about a Artis name Theo Van Doesburg who in 1917 did a painting called the "Card Players" which is a early Geo-Abstaaction. So I put more of an efford towards painting in that style. After college I tried to sell my some of my paintings', but I soon found out how hard that was. So I put my art away for a while. I came back to painting again after I retired. I love to paint which now I am finally able to do. I like to mix up different styles of abstract with impression, but I almost always fall back into painting Geo. Abstraction. Many of my ideas for paintings come from my years spent in working in manufacturing jobs. I am in my 70's now, and I plan to keep painting until I run out of ideas or time. I really only show my paintings on Saatchi and to friends. Anyway I hope you like what you see and might like to collect some of my works . Thanks for looking.
