I am infatuated with turquoise and green. When I saw a cabinet by Paul Evans the mid century modern brutalist furniture maker an idea was born. I took heavy paper that had wonderful color and texture and applied it to a canvas, then a wood panel. The painting is enhanced with gold ink and the wood sides also have a gold paint. There is a wonderful texture from many layers of paint and cold wax. The gold channels made me think of gemstone inlay....hence the title.

Growing up as a fourth generation Californian native I have been surrounded by the ocean and the desert. Those lasting visuals, textures and landscapes find their way to all my art. I had my first one woman show in high school. In college I was in shows that featured sculpture and painting. After graduating I worked in fashion, set design and gallery direction. I have curated pop up art spaces in Santa Monica and a gallery in Laguna Beach. I started two years ago to paint for myself and found an online audience.
