Natasha was brought up in London where she completed her foundation in Art at the University Of Arts London (Camberwell). She continued her education at London College of Communication and was awarded her Bachelors Degree with First Class Honours in Architecture and Design. For the past few years she has based herself in Colombo to further her Fine Art and Architecture. Natasha has designed public interior spaces in both London and Colombo. This vocational background in architecture and interior design has enabled Natasha, in her fine art, to explore the essence of spatial nature. Currently using linen as a medium, something she often used in her design career, she explores and develops portrait painting in a fluid and imaginative based style, mixing both realism and abstract brush forms to create her style. Inspired by the spatial and compositional aspects of architecture, Natasha’s work explores the importance of negative space, where the blank space on the linen becomes as important as the paint itself.
