Distortion Painting

I am an emerging abstract artist based in Málaga (Spain). My artist name is Tatuska and I make abstract artworks under my personal brand, Artuska. My passion for architecture, decoration and interior design sparked my interest in painting and art, trying to fit modern paintings and artworks into the different decoration projects I have in mind. I currently develop both passions as I am taking a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design, which fuels my inspiration when making each composition. I am a self-taught person, I love to read about art and observe it. I am particularly interested in sculpture and painting since both move something inside me and maybe that’s what’s all about, reaching others with an image. In my personal view, my artworks reflect how irregular shapes of different sizes, shapes and colors can create an harmonic composition that, without being realistic, transmits different feelings and sensations to the viewer. My framework is formed by geometry, minimalism, simplicity, textures and colors; the structure of my artworks is also defined by the superposition of shapes, which, far from wanting to convey oppression, try to give space to each figure within chaos, thus conveying a certain sensation of freedom. I like to play with textures because they invite to closely observe the surface. I appreciate diversity, as I consider that the artwork’s strength comes from it. The mix of textures, colors and shapes on my artworks represent my idea of elegance and beauty. Each work is unique and inspired by my environment and the people around me. Through them, I try to seek balance and harmony, without looking for straight lines or perfect shapes, because, just like life, things are not square ... they have the shape you want to give them. A sound or a point of light is enough to make me feel like creating an artwork. I love the sensation of continuously growing artistically and develop all my potential, in order to create new live compositions. Throughout them, I try to express all the energy and positivity that flow out from me. My only objective is to express my feelings with freedom and if possible, transmit serenity.
