Leo Raudys is an American artist who explores themes of modern absurdity, dehumanizing technology, and space and time, through printmaking and painting. Raudys’s work interweaves elements of organic and inorganic forms, and in doing so, creates images of modern isolation in the context of the natural world, often borrowing themes from contemporary visionary fiction. For most of his career, Raudys explored these themes through relief printmaking and has transitioned to painting, where he is focusing on themes related to modern technology, the universe, and our place in it. His work is found in private and public collections in Chicago, New York, and Minneapolis, as well as in the permanent collection of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When viewing the work, laughing or crying to yourself or outwardly is not only perfectly acceptable but wholly encouraged and appreciated.
