Ertekin is an architect by profession and has practised architecture for over four decades. Besides architecture he has always shown interest in fields of activities such as stage design, graphic design and computer aided design, especially 3D modellings. His interest in digital painting dates back to 2016. The impact of experiences attained from these diverse fields of activities can be traced in his artwork ; his paintings accordingly reflect a multi-layered character bearing reminiscences from architecture, stage arts, visual design and sculpture. His compositions resembling the assembly of some metallic bodies which tend to arouse a perception of 3 dimentional entities, mainly aim to stimulate the imagination of the viewers. Some of them focus on grunge, chaos and decay while others try to evoke dreamlike connotations. His portraits mainly reflect the fragmented nature of post modern existence, which unfold in those faces as sorrow, uneasiness and desperation. The artist uses digital media as an effective means to create variations in color, light and textures.
