Fabien Novarino, French painter, sculptor, visual artist and photographer, born in 1963, began his career in 1990. He started painting at a very young age, but as a teenager he also became interested in photography. He took his first pictures at the age of 12 and practiced in the black and white laboratory. He participated in numerous exhibitions and amateur competitions. In the early 1980s, while studying literature in Paris, he worked as a freelancer for the Vandystadt agency, which distributed his sports and entertainment images. He was hired as a photographer in a photo lab. Then he was hired as a studio operator specialising in advertising and industrial photography. As his career as a painter took off, he abandoned photography for a while to devote himself to pictorial works inspired by the Provençal hinterland and then urban themes which gave him an international dimension. In 2010, bringing together his two passions, painting and photography, his work turns towards a painted photo montage that confirms his status and continues to be collected worldwide. In 2020, in parallel with these creations, he develops a collection composed solely of photographs. This work, made of transparencies, superimpositions and contrasts, evokes the themes that are dear to him: the urban, travel, female characters and the abstract. His images, printed in high definition on Chromaluxe, are presented in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad.
