Origins and Early Development (1975–1995) Marco Galli was born in 1975 in the province of Milan, growing up in an environment where a passion for art was deeply felt from a young age. Raised in a family that valued creativity and artistic expression, Marco displayed an early interest in painting, initially focusing on figurative art and later transitioning to abstraction. In the late 1980s, as a young enthusiast, he dedicated himself to studying modern and contemporary art, not through formal academic paths but as a self-taught artist. His primary inspirations include key figures such as Emilio Vedova, Afro Basaldella, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Jackson Pollock, and Hans Hartung. By deeply studying their works, Marco developed a profound appreciation for abstraction and began his relentless pursuit of abstract form and composition. The Emergence of a Personal Aesthetic (1995–2005) During the 1990s, Marco started defining his own aesthetic, characterized by meticulous attention to abstract forms and an extraordinary focus on the details of his works. His compositions became known for their bold use of broad fields of color and irregular yet deliberately assertive brushstrokes, which give his pieces unique emotional depth and visual resonance. During this period, he explored various techniques and materials, often experimenting with mixed pigments, varied textures, and unconventional tools to apply color to the canvas. This experimentation not only enriched his artistic practice but also established his presence in the field of contemporary abstract painting. Recognition and Exhibitions (2005–2015) In the early 2000s, Marco gained the attention of the art community through a series of solo and group exhibitions in prestigious galleries across Italy, Europe, and beyond. His works, which combine profound emotional and spiritual depth with intense aesthetic exploration, captivated critics and collectors for their ability to challenge conventions in abstract art while exploring new dimensions of visual creation. One of his most celebrated exhibitions was a solo show in Milan in 2015, which highlighted his artistic development and the evolution of his techniques over the years. Marco’s works continue to evolve, maintaining a focus on the tension between abstract form and emotional depth.
