My mother loves Tiger Lily's and was the inspiration behind this artwork. The cheery colors brighten my day and I hope they can do the same for anyone who see's this. It was drawn on Strathmore Bristol smooth acid-free paper and with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils.

I grew up in warm, sunny Houston, Texas. My mother said I was singing and dancing before I could even walk. I began dancing when I was 3 and continued to do that through my time in University. I married the most amazing man and our adventures took us to the beautiful country of Germany where we have resided for the last 13 years. I am a wife and mother to 4 young, beautiful, energetic, and expressive children. They definitely keep me very busy but I love being creative whenever I get the chance and strive to make as much time for it as possible. I discovered I could draw a few years ago by accident. I just happened to sketch my daughter on a scratch piece of paper and it looked just like her. I was shocked but I was too tired and couldn’t concentrate enough to pursue it at the time. As the mother of 4 energetic children, living abroad due to my husband’s job and trying to cope with the challenges of life in a foreign country, I didn’t have the time or energy to pursue drawing. However, when life took a downward spiral at the end of 2019, I ended up at my parents’ house in January 2020 to get help with 13 long years of severe depression and anxiety that was crippling me. Suddenly I had all the time in the world to take care of just me. During this time of healing, I was also diagnosed with severe ADHD and started medication for it too. This was life changing as I have never been able to sit still long enough to do anything requiring any amount of sitting. I've always been a dancer for that reason. Even with crippling depression my body would force me out of bed to do things. So during this time of my brain and body quieting, I picked up a pencil and paper and started a new adventure in art. I love beautiful things and sharing joy and goodness whenever I can. I hope that's what I can do with my art.
