He went to Art College at Brighton polytechnic and later worked in sculpture casting studio in East London where he learnt the techniques of bronze casting. Simon first focused on sculpture and explored the relationship between man and machine culminating in the machine age series, which have been exhibited and sold worldwide. During this period he also worked as a commercial model maker. He continues to produce work in a variety of media and styles.
