My mom loves to grow geraniums. because she always has nature at home with which to draw sketches. I like the way geraniums bloom, but I don't like the smell of the leaves. so I try not to touch this flower.

My name is Alex Vainova (this is my creative pseudonym). I was born and live in Kyiv, Ukraine. Drawing for me is an escape from reality, with complete immersion in the process. During this time, I have created more than 500 works both in sketchbooks and on canvas. My work is varied. I am interested in painting landscapes, flowers, architecture and water. On the one hand, I like to control my every stroke, scrupulously work out the detail, and on the other hand, I like to give free rein to the material and hand. I like to work with both color and monochrome. I work in different media: painting (watercolor, oil) and graphics (liners). I don't use very bright colors. I prefer to muffle the color in my works so that it is calm. And this gives my work lightness and tenderness. I am most inspired by the perfection of nature. I pay attention to every flower, clouds, sunset in the sky, sparkling reflections on the water, etc. Therefore, in my work, I want to capture the beauty of nature that modern people, being in a hurry, tend to ignore and pass by.
