As a photographing artist I was invited to participate in The Other Avatars project. Each participating artist was invited to create a series of artworks on the theme of Vincent van Gogh’s self portraits to be launched in Saatchi Art’s first digital NFT collection. My photographic art is all about geometry and rhythm, featuring architectural elements. Within this project I found my own approach by displaying Van Gogh’s portraits as huge murals on façades of buildings, all in frontal view. This is a wall in Berlin, Germany. I gave the different windows a scattered playfulness, which makes them dance across the plastered orange brown surface. And through it all, laughing, smoking and with a straw hat there is the Van Gogh skull, reminding us that all of this playing is just temporary. This is a ready to hang artwork in a single edition. It is a photographic print on high quality paper behind plexiglass (Diasec) in museum quality finish. The plexiglass provides remarkable depth and brilliance to the art work. For extra stability it has an aluminum Dibond backpanel and a hidden wall mount frame. It is handsigned on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity Contact Saatchi Art if you would prefer to purchase this work in a different size or finish.
