beginning Collage

I am a self taught artist who wants to harmonize color relationships, manipulate perspectives and expand on various aspect motifs to create something new. The use of old magazines, books and image sources allowed me to pull my media from other peoples' trash which inspires resourcefulness and an excitement of creating something from nothing. Most of my collages are made up of several hundred separate pieces of paper with carefully chosen image, color and structural properties. I work deliberately. My other favored medium is pencils. I prefer portraits because the subtle beauty of facial expression is endless because of our acute sensitivity to it. I will work with watercolor and acrylic and combine media. I also will work digitally using what I have learned from other mediums
