This artwork is the first from the series Waiting For The Sun. I made this drawing on canvas during an artist residency in the picturesque village of Kubed in the Istrian region of Slovenia. The Olive tree which inspired me was a protegee of the Abandoned Plants Sanctuary and it was a muse for this series which I've started there. I wanted to collaborate with natural elements directly that's why I've chosen the technique where the creative process depends on the Sunlight which helped me to place the shadow of the plant on the canvas. The presence of the plant with its shadow is important to me because I am searching for the essence of the plant through different mediums of expression. That's why I've chosen to draw with graphite on raw cotton canvas, protected with matte transparent gesso.

Her body of work covers the field of painting, drawing, and illustration, combining ecological guidelines and themes, which are already implemented in the project Abandoned Plants Sanctuary. In her works, she develops and upgrades them into a whole, in the mediums of paintings, drawings, and illustration. In her personal work, through an intimate and personal relationship with the above media, she explores the field between individual and collective, between formal techniques and informal approaches. In her work, she subtly incorporates current social events, the center of which is her attitude towards nature, sustainable way of living, and the position of the individual in current socio-ecological circumstances.
