About The Artwork
COEXIST Acrylic on stretched canvas. Measures 30″ H x 30″W x .75″ Sides are painted to match the teal blue theme and hanging hardware is already attached so this baby is ready to hang immediately! I'm sure you know there are rivalries between vineyards... There are rivalries between wine regions throughout the world.... Even here in the U.S., there are rivalries between east and west coast wines! Closer to home where I live here in Sonoma County, there are rivalries between Napa and Sonoma wineries! All I can say is; WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG Oh sure, some days a good Chardonnay or Pouilly Fuissé is in order, while other days, we long for a full rich Pinot Noir. Still other days, a table red will do, thank you. Thanks to my winery friends that follow me on instagram, you are an inspiration and that's why I put you in my painting! This painting reflects my take on all the different wines and all the different wineries. There are several types of wines here a Castrucci Cabernet Sauvignon, Williams Selyem Pinot Noir, Benziger Pinot Noir Rose, Robert Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc, Tiny House Pinot Noir and Benziger Chardonnay Hell, I even threw in Diane Keaton’s robust red wine: THE KEATON, which I would love to try one day just for the hell of it. Yes, even on ICE. Yes, in a TUMBLER too! There, I said it!!! I’m not a wine snob. I enjoy a good wine on occasion, but I’m just as happy with a local Cabernet Sauvignon too! By the way, I tweeted to Diane Keaton asking her about the color of the wine bottle. It’s probably green, but then knowing her fondness for all things black and white – I’m feeling like the bottle may be black. Who knows? I never heard back from her (silly right?) Pretty sure she has all the time in the world to answer me back Tried to score on a bottle here, but apparently it’s only distributed down in Southern California. Prost! Cheers! Salute! Skol! Globally collected artist Deb Breton is an abstract expressionist artist living & working in Northern California, U.S. Hi, I’m Deb, In school, I was that quirky kid who was always drawing during English Literature class, or backstage painting sets for the Drama Department. At the top of my “career,” I was an artist for notable clients Nestle, Warner Brothers, and the Dali Museum. But I was not happy with the corporate hustle. So, I picked up woodturning, which eventually led me full circle back to painting. You will find me in my studio working with acrylics, oils, ink, and spray paint. My tools are oftentimes things like sponges, flowers, branches, and squeegees. I tend to break many of the rules that I was taught in art. But the hardest thing for me to learn was how to step out of my own way and let creativity flow. My art reflects my scattered mind —inspired by life, nature, the universe and sometimes even the beat of my playlist. It is extremely difficult for me to stay on script—my ADHD ensures that. Luckily, I find peace and calm in painting. Art is a reminder for us to honor our authentic selves in a world that often tries to box us in.
