Along the years, my art has undergone several transformations and now I have set out to tackle existential themes, yet I wish to remain impartial as to the message beingconveyed. I want to present to the reader certain ideas and concepts of a philosophical, political, sociological and religious nature. I play with these notions within the virtual space, while still maintaining anunbiasedstance and allowing the viewer to decide which side to take. Nevertheless, given my own convictions, it is very difficult to uphold absolute neutrality, which is why some of my personal ideas do seep through and the scales are slightly tipped in a specific direction. I have, however, sought to keep my art non-militant, even though the notions that I portray pertain to that realm; I have sought not to force anyone’s conscience, yet I wished my art to awaken consciences, to arouse beauty lovers from the slumber of ignorance. Can one love beauty and be ignorant at the same time? Apparently, it is possible, as long as one remains a spectator, watching indifferently from the sides as beauty is turned into an ideological weapon. I do not want to remain such an onlooker myself; I wish to stir the waters of the soul only to subsequentlytemper the battle that seemedit would never take place. ‘A good war is better than a bad peace’ is the motto that guides me as I navigate among the concepts that I employ. I do not aim to win these battles by forcing consciences, but I would like viewers to find the meaning of their quests,following an inner process.
