Tita Costa is a Portuguese visual artist whose practice brings together painting, textile art, and contemporary digital processes. Throughout her career, she has explored the expressive potential of colour and structure, and creating works that balance intuition with careful composition.
Her recent body of work, "Synthetic Garden", investigates the garden as an imagined landscape rather than a place observed. Developed through an original AI-assisted creative process and extensive digital transformation, each work evolves through selection, refinement, and composition into an autonomous visual environment.
Rather than depicting the natural world, these works propose alternative ecologies where colour, rhythm, and form become the primary language of perception. Rooted in a lifelong engagement with visual art, Tita Costa's practice embraces new technologies while remaining grounded in the enduring pursuit of beauty, contemplation, and artistic expression.
Tita Costa holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Porto, Portugal, and a Master's degree in Electronic Art from Coventry University, United Kingdom.
For more than forty years, Tita Costa has worked across painting and contemporary digital media, with a practice rooted in oil and acrylic on canvas, watercolour, textiles, and, more recently, AI-assisted digital art. Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and internationally, including Switzerland, Belgium, and Spain.
