ABOUT THE ARTWORK
x This painting was challenging for me because I began with a rather unconventional exercise: to depict all the rhythms of this landscape, which were filled with stripes everywhere. The landscape was so rich in rhythms and intricate patterns that I struggled to manage it. Then there was the green! Greenery abounded, suffocating the painting. Combined with the pronounced rhythm of the vines and the beautiful perspective, it transformed the landscape into something very beautiful yet oddly uninteresting. Monotonous. The reflection that interests me is the utilization of the land, with no waste—an organization as suffocating as it is efficient. Everything is constrained, structured, defined, and determined. This is why I found myself erasing, adding green, removing it again, and then reintroducing it. Essentially, when I am unsure, I let chance take its course, albeit with a little organization on my part.
