A particular feature of this series of Towers is that each painting is rendered in a distinct shade of yellow. Yellow is a challenging color. If used in large amounts, it tends to be overwhelming. Even a slight addition of white can dull its vibrancy, while a touch of another hue can transform it into ochre. However, this time, yellow was meant to be unapologetically bold - not gold, not orange, not pastel, but a vivid and commanding yellow.
