About The Artwork
The Chinese writing system is an unique phenomenon in the modern world of alphabet script, instead of few dozen letters, it has developed thousand of complex signs or “characters” that represent morphemes and words. Chinese calligraphy started about 3,500 years ago, with pictures of object and starts from right to left for sentences and phrases. The word SWEET on the right hand side, with tongue sticking out of the lips, sweet stuff on the bottom tip of the word. The word HOME is on the left hand side with a people under the roof. The shape of these characters are often described as PICTOGRAPHIC for they resembling stylized drawing of the object they represented.
