ABOUT THE ARTWORK

SUMMER, WILL YOU MARRY ME? | POP ART Milton Caniff tribute | Original acrylic paint on canvas | Meters: 1.20m x 1.20m x 8cm / Inches: 47,2 x 47,2 x 3” | www.popart.world 2019 Comic romance had its peak in the middle of the last century. Great cartoonists of that time made us laugh, cry and understand love in their own way. Among them we must highlight Milton Caniff, a true master of comic drawing who with great fluidity and luxury of details drew planes, combat in the air and the love stories of its protagonists. A comic painting, of those many thousands that Caniff drew, is exactly that of a proposal of love that I chose to pay tribute to this great artist. The technique was acrylic painting and the large format allows us to appreciate every detail that the drawings of yesteryear contained. My contribution was to put more current colors so that the work can shine in any contemporary home that knows how to appreciate the masters of popular art and drawing.
