I called this work “Somewhere over the darkness” inspired by the famous and so true quote of Martin Luther King « Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that » associated with the émouvante vision of these childrens with all their innocence , despite adversity, war, poverty, violence, racisme. Childrens forced to fight with courage for their rights to grow up in peace, protected from all forms of violence, poverty and injustice. With all innocence of childhood they don't lose hope to have a better life in peace, with social justice and equality of rights. In this painting, I wanted to perpetuate the image of these children in their childhood universe forced to be part a fight for a better life protected from the adult world with all their concerns, selfishness, power struggles and limitless ambition, often so destructive.

I evolve from several years in the urban art world, with a special visual style I feel more and more challenged by a socially involved militant mind, I speak it through my artworks which often have a controversial and provoking context of society with a recurrent social and political message. My work and my artistic way are strongly influenced by street art, and by its artistic approach often with a strong social, even political message. In my artistic pursuit, I feel strongly challenged by these street artists and by their militant and committed state of mind. I find great inspiration in their plastic production, which frequently has a strong socially critical content, often ironic and with messages that invite us to reflect and analyze our society. I am inspired by the street world and the urban culture not included in the traditional world of art. I love the critical connotations of urban art as their social and political aspects submitted to any academic concept. Even if my style continues to evolve I voluntarily place myself far from the art theories and academic discourse. I feel completely comfortable in the universe of urban art because its roots are the ordinary world and everyday reality. With a social message and engaged context I would like to engage people emotionally and awaken collective awareness about society and the world.
