VIEW IN MY ROOM
I painted Pepper LaBeija who known as the head of the ball culture House of LaBeija for over 30years.She is legendary drag queen in 1980,NY,after I saw "Paris is burning". She lived in a double hard life of being black and gay. However, she was proud of her pride and her supple strength and beauty that pierced her own way of life. I hope my artwork tell to people that what kind life did PepperLaBeija had. On the movie she worn green and gold color dress,it’s beautiful one. The strength of her will was expressed in red with the difficulties of her living life.
