This work belongs to my small series called "Pixel" which is a small square format, where I explore color structures and contrasts in a square and small stroke environment. It is designed to hang a set of "Pixels" combining from 2 to 4 or more. Making a new creation and composition on the wall. The technique is acrylic on canvas and is signed by back and with certificate of authenticity.

I was born in Caracas in 1958. I started studying philosophy at the UCV in Venezuela, but at 18 I knew that painting for me was the most important thing. I started by copying and drawing everything around me. I drew the knots and roots, I had an obsession with that ... they were like tensions, I was not interested in drawing them exactly and that was dissolving in a space, they were like pendants and fell. The important experience for my painting starts from the watercolor, drawing first and then painting. The watercolor gave me the possibility of working the acrylic, I started as a figurative and I was transformed when I saw Rothko in an exhibition in Spain, I left a vibration that I froze, I felt a great bond and I started to totally lose the reference of the drawing . Currently I work the oil and acrylic looking for transparency, using thin layers. When I start a work there is a ritual, prepare for where to pull up. For me every day have to do with color. When I get to my workshop I feel ... it's like the one that comes to a kitchen and wants to prepare an inspired dish with the flavors and aromas, for me the color is the reference. Sometimes inspiration is not achieved, but I always need music to paint. I love Miles Davis. The color is the one that guides me. It's like I have an orchestra. The acrylic allows me to work immediately and continue to put layers on because it dries fast. I love the large formats, because I start to work the canvas and it is endless it can have 4 meters, because the color is endless, it is infinite. My work is emotional comes from inside of me. It is to enter into an inner world that I do not know and make possible. When the figures were, when they were beings. I always like that there is a reference of a being, a human, a presence in a space. That interests me a lot, but I'm an abstract artist.
