DUBLIN DOCKLANDS AT NIGHT Print

The River Liffey in bright night lights, with the engineering beauty of the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the Convention Centre. Walking through the streets of Dublin, you feel the intertwining of centuries of history with modernity in extraordinary breath-taking places. I have been living in Ireland for more than 20 years. All my life I was engaged in art as a hobbyist, however, in early 2021 I finally decided to dedicate all my time to art. That was when I started to develop my style with tangled lines. The works of Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk, Irish Jim Fitzpatrick, and also the works of the Impressionists and especially Van Gogh had a big influence on me. My style is a combination of styles: plyontanism of Ivan Marchuk and Celtic art and my life experience in 3D graphics. Also, it is a combination of tangled threads of my mother’s knitted clothes and my father’s tangled fishing line which he tries to untangle for hours. It was influenced by both countries where I lived and their culture and art such as Irish lace and Ukrainian embroidery. I named my style – tangled lines painting. What are tangled lines? It is a layering of thin long tangled lines of acrylic paint, which create a high-textured 3d painting by tangling with each other.
