ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Spray paint and stencil on a collage of fragments and pages of old cooking book pages, 100,0x98,5cm, 2021. * The fragments of food photos where previously glued together and then laser cutted into squares and letters of various typographic styles which were organized and adhered to old book pages in the background, forming the word "eat" in a continuous sequence, thus allowing to appear some interesting variations of the text. One of a kind, original art piece crafted and signed on its back by the artist. By hand gluing recycled/reused paper sheets and fragments together, some ripples on the surface of the work are expected, which, if desired, may be corrected, at least in part, by framing. * Unframed, ships in a tube. Includes Certificate of Authenticity.

I'm a Brazilian mixed-media artist who likes pop culture, urban and vintage aesthetics. My work is primarily focused on collages made from discarded materials like office paper, old book pages and cotton textiles that I use as supports for my paintings. These materials allow for rich textures which give me te ability to mimic the impression of old walls with paint, poster fragments, and graffiti that have accumulated over time, in order to convey the influences of my art, mostly the pop art of the 1960s, the graffiti of the 80s/90s and the recent street art movement. Sharing beauty and upholding what is true and good are my goals, hoping that my art may uplift, bring joy and energize those who value my artworks.
