Michael William Benton

These works express a personal way of seeing, feeling, and experiencing what life is like for me. Thirty years ago, I had a profound spiritually transformative experience: beginning as a dream and continuing on with my eyes open, I experienced an unquantifiable powerful light that was pure love, kindness, ecstasy, and data. All reality became this superposition, and I understood the shared connection between all things as they are manifestations of the same intelligent infinity that creates the Love-Light substrate of our reality and realities we are usually veiled from. The resonance of this experience remains with me as an omnipresence. I am constantly reminded of the luminous nature of people, places, and things, so I use what is commonly referred to as the white negative space of the page or canvas as a reflection of this infinite Love-Light substrate and connect the various lines, colours, shapes, and forms with each other as they are manifested from and as the consciousness that is their source.
