My work represents a lifetime of professional illustration experience. A love of capturing the magnificent beauty of the redwoods is my favorite topic. I am working on a series of portraits of the most iconic ancient redwood trees: Big Red, Luna, Corkscrew Tree, Curly Redwoods, Giant Tree, and now Hyperion. I am also illustrating and writing a children's book based on my painting called 'The Sorrel Forest.'
ReefLife sculptures have been recently added to this collection of work on Saatchi Art. They are collages with ceramic and painted with acrylics. The backgrounds are air-brushed mirrors. These relief sculptures are within a plexiglass box for protection, and it gives an aquarium-like appearance.
My paintings of Euro-castle history, ancestral villages, and California Missions were inspired by extensive travels. A defining characteristic of these works is a feeling of space and depth within the picture whereby the viewer is drawn into the painting. In some of my paintings, a loose, big-brushed edge pulls the viewer's eye to the painting's center to see the finest detail. My education comes from over 30 years of published, professional freelance graphic artist/designer and illustration experience. My graphic design and illustration work started at San Jose State University. An extensive portfolio of my artwork and design done for many corporate clients.

I am currently head of the Fortuna Art Council and an active member of the Humboldt Arts Council and the Redwood Art Association. My website has an extensive list of current and past galleries, art shows, and the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
