Guido Albanese

Guido Albanese (born 9 August 1968) is an Italian contemporary visual artist. His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, digital art, and also the illustration of books.
His artistic research is oriented towards explorations and introspections, on themes related to the concepts of nature, and of the human being as an object of transformation and manipulation. What he has always sought in art is the wonder, the illusion, the fantastic.
His work mainly consists of works oscillating between figurative and abstract, conceived and created with different techniques, including painting with acrylic colors on canvas, or computer graphics made with 3D modeling and rendering techniques (CGI), photograph manipulation (DMP), digital painting, and digital printing on different media.

In the field of traditional painting, he aims at a primordial contact with matter. A recovery of manual skills, the "craft" of painting. He paints in a realistic but not naturalistic way, usually with few colors and with a chromatic dominance. He uses acrylic colors with different techniques, among which tonal painting, but also more material and raw techniques. Guido Albanese was born in 1968 in Barletta in Puglia, where he still lives and works. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts (Florence - Bari), in 1994 he completed his training in the artistic field with a scholarship at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan as a scene painter. Later he collaborated as an assistant with the set designers Ezio Frigerio in Paris and William Orlandi in Milan.
