I am Noemi, a painter from San Marino — one of the world's smallest and oldest independent republics, a tiny sovereign state nestled within Italy, where history and beauty are woven into everyday life.
I have been painting since childhood, but it is only in recent years that I found my true voice: abstract, contemporary, and textural. My work is built on layers — of acrylic, of matter, of meaning — each painting a physical record of an inner state.
For me, art is not about representation. It is about sensation. About the restlessness before a feeling finds its form, and the stillness that comes after. I paint what cannot be spoken: the weight of emotions, the quiet violence of joy, the tenderness of uncertainty.
Every canvas begins as an act of listening — to mood, to memory, to the moment. The texture is never accidental. It is the emotion made tangible, something you could almost reach out and touch.
I studied at art school, where I explored sculpture and life drawing before going on to specialize in architecture. Though I chose not to pursue that path professionally, my architectural training left a lasting imprint — a sensitivity to structure, space, and materiality that quietly underlies every canvas I create.
