About The Artwork
2001. Natura morta - 11 Settembre, 2001 is an assemblage born from my personal ideas on the tragedy now a symbol of the new century. The image of New York, the big apple, served on the plate for the sacrifice. Human lives, perished on September 11, become, with a tragic play on words, the "Natura morta" (Still life) of the title (which, in English, literally, should be translated "Dead nature"). This artwork is part of a series: Sipario (The curtain), Il rito (The rite), Istantanea di famiglia (Family snapshot), Natura morta - Don Chisciotte (Still life - Don Quixote), Piccola mela blu (Little blue apple).
