White color gives much more space to implement Olga's ideas. It gives an organic feeling, conveys airiness, lightness, softness, and purity. She explores the different variations that are possible in the composition and plays with the shapes, depth and transitions from light to shadow. Each work is highly textured and inspired by natural formations and their textures. Olga gives the depth to her work by using double-sided sticky foam between the layers. The distinguishing feature is the paper edge cut at an angle, as this creates smoother transitions from light to shadow. The paper sculpture techniques give the artwork a greater illusion of 3D.

Olga passionate about art ever since she was a kid. She feels like she was born to be an artist. The choice of profession was obvious to her. Olga formerly worked as an illustrator, graphic designer and she painted photorealistic portraits on commission before turning to full-time paper artist. Skorokhod experimented with different techniques and materials while she was in Ukraine in hopes of finding her own art style in which she could constantly develop and be recognized worldwide. But it wasn’t until she completely stepped out of her comfort zone and moved to the U.S. that she eventually found it. Art is necessary for Olga. It’s like breathing. You can’t live without oxygen, so Olga can’t live without art. She craved to create. Since Olga had a small budget and couldn’t afford paint and canvas, she started working with the most affordable printer paper. It turns out paper was exactly what Olga has been looking for because she always liked monochromatic high textured artworks, and cutting by hand was a form of healing meditation for her. "If you are a professional artist and you have a sense of destiny to create, then you can make a piece of art from anything. It doesn't matter what materials and tools to use." That is how Olga Skorokhod’s paper art journey began. Olga’s sculptures are created by inspiration of nature's fascinating beauty. She likes natural formation and their textures. Olga intends for each viewer to feel an emotional response to her works by sharing through her universe of artistic expression. Olga’s work showcases strong rhythms between space and shape and favors complementary color palettes. Her artworks have the illusion of 3D because of the paper sculpture techniques she uses. Today, Olga Skorokhod is a prizewinning artist whose works have been featured in more than 50 exhibitions nationally and internationally. Olga’s works are in private collections in more than 15 countries. She has publications In more than 15 blog posts. Olga’s artworks were featured on CNN Indonesia.
