About The Artwork

Plants have always been an important part of my life and have brought me much joy and happiness. I aimed to capture the everyday simplicity in which houseplants permeate our lives. They're these complex, self sustaining, strong living things that exist in our household if we choose to nurture them and provide them with moisture and light. "You Were My Last Hope" refers to practice of propagating plants and in this case, attempting to keep part of the plant alive after sacrificing the parent when it became infested. The plant carries my and the mother plant's hope of continuing to live.
