In 2010 I was traveling at the Wuming Buddhist Institute in Sichuan, China, and met a Tibetan nomad at the top of a mountain with a backpack full of Coke, the sweet carbonated beverage Tibetans love so much. I was mesmerized by his aura of complete innocence and purity. I took a quick portrait of him in 30 seconds, which is also a masterpiece of my portraits, and which has been widely acclaimed. It was nominated for a prize in the 2010 Fondation des Talents photography competition. What I really want to say is that good subjects are rare. The best is when he is there and you happen to be there too.
