Birth Place: Albany, New York - USA Peter Welch is a fine art photographer and filmmaker living in New York City. His photography has been exhibited in galleries and art expos throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Mexico and Canada. His publications include Time Out NY, The Village Voice and ReI'm a New York City based multidisciplinary artist. My fine art photographic work has been exhibited in various venues throughout world. These images often explore the American landscape in an attempt to find a sense of place in an ever changing, commercially oriented environment. Other themes touched upon are the harmonious relationship between life and death, the unpredictable nature of human experience and the random nature of my own life. My work was recognized by the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 International Photography Awards, as well as the 2006 Palm Springs Photo Festival. I'm currently editing two monographs- Absence: American Photographs and Scrap Mental: New York Photographs 2001 - 2011. I'm a New York City based multidisciplinary artist. As a filmmaker I directed the feature film Three Long Years, which was picked up for worldwide distribution by Zurich based Diva Releasing in 2009. I also co-directed the popular experimental film The Piles Project, which featured Art World superstars Mark Kostabi and Taylor Mead. Recently I've completed the travelogue AFTER LIFE 2016 which will be released in the spring of 2020, and I'm also helping to produce Hamilton Harris's documentary The Kids featuring Chloe Sevigny, Jason Lee and Rosario Dawson. To date I've had four full length plays produced in New York- Thelonious, Two Alone/Too Together, Autumn Stage & Don't Tell Mother, as well as several one acts.
