ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was born in 1973, and my parents were farmers. In 1999, I got enrolled into an art college with a dream of becoming an artist. I am currently a father, a husband, and a painter. The duality and struggle between a domestic life of being a parent and spouse with a working life became a subject matter to my work. My work expresses conflicts and emotions aroused from distinct social roles through figurative subjects that ranges from models and cartoon characters, to gods. For each piece, I start with a simple drawing on a canvas of a chosen figure/ image. Then, I go into a constant exploration of constructing and deconstructing the image with obsessive amount of acrylics or oils to ease out my emotions. I adapt myself and live out the society through such actions. Pitiful. Pitiful, the artist thought, as, he looked at his past works depicting a distorted and scarred face. He hid his emotions behind the flamboyant colors. Using a brush and knife, the artist, continously changed the image through the process of covering up, sweeping away, and blurring. Through this the artist, continues to ask questions about life as he resists his identity and social idolization. In this day and age, we do not see our true selves, in a constant state of struggling emotions and conflicts, but instead, live enticed by the flamboyance of the system that is our society. The artist hopes that, through his work, it will help people to look inside themselves, so that they can face and ponder, their inner conflicts in hopes that it provides motive th empathize and connect with others.

I was born in 1973, and my parents were farmer. I went Art- Collage to be an artist, and now, I live for father, husband, and worker. I feel all the emotions such as pleasure, sadness, anger, and joyful like everyone does; but also, I sometimes got conflict to live. One day, I got used to unmanageable society; and, painting was the only way that I can fill a lack of maladjustment, and fulfill my dream. Read Less
