About The Artwork

Semi-abstract female portrait created by contemporary artist Nathalie Cubéro on a metal support. This painting is imbued with modernity. We feel the full expressionist imprint of the artist. Various media are used, including kraft paper and leaf gilding which brings a double metallic touch to this painting, with several mixed colors and finishes. The subject appears to be looking towards the sky. The blue tones are a reminder of this. This portrait is inspired by a strong and sensitive femininity at the same time. The work in 20 x 20 cm format is made on metal, then mounted on a white wooden marie-louise, measuring 30 x 30 cm. This allows the work to be ready to be framed at your convenience. Hand signed artwork.

Nathalie Cubéro is a French painter, living and working in Aix-en-Provence, France. Her work is based on several techniques inspired by urban art such as graffiti or stencil, but also academic techniques, like leaf gilding, in a special care to marry the opposites. Nathalie Cubéro is interested in the human being in all that is most secret and intimate, and depicts her characters in ambiguous situations, at the crossroads. Her protagonists find themselves face to face with the outside world, but especially with themselves, in an almost sudden detachment of the visible reality towards the non palpable. Something is happening, but the viewer must find the answers in his own emotions. Made of personal or fictitious stories, her paintings illustrate an insidious threat, an unrequited happiness, a silent gesture, as many situations turned towards the intimacy of each individual, thus titillating the imagination of the spectator.
