About The Artwork

Have faith in the future in uncertain times. Are you going to fight or do you dare to surrender? To expose you? Lie down and spread your arms. A posture between liberation, lust and suffering. Of wonder and redemption. How vulnerable or powerful are you? The theme of surrender leads to three repetitive ritual works on canvas. Three different people, different versions of Moses, Mary, Mohamed or Magdalena perhaps? Three different reflections of yourself? Three displaced persons that wash up on your retina? Or three powerful people ready for transition to themselves? A trinity lying on red. A scarlet background is reminiscent of the red sea, but also of suffering and love. According to Van Ham, we are now also facing an exodus to a new era. Based on people and the world. Do we let go or do we hold each other? He wrote a poem to accompany this work of art with his reflection on the three works of art: nothing left all behind free in the flesh lost in your mind starting to unwind

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Sometimes you meet someone who touches you. Who awakens your inner artist. Something you can’t quite put your finger on. But you know that something is hidden behind that attraction. Painting a nude model is an intimate and fragile process. With his nude portraits, Coen van Ham (1971) follows in an expressionist manner in the footsteps of great masters such as Willem de Kooning, Francis Bacon and Adrian Ghenie.
