This large format black painting is a statement piece that combines dark, almost black background with gold, silver and black lines that reminds us of the orbiting movement that we are not actually able to see with our naked eye, not even with a telescope. All lines are drawn by free hand. Orbits are a product of a multilevel abstraction that physicists are able to imagine, calculate, measure and eventually perform the visualization that will give us a much better understanding of time and space. The whole series and the concept itself is inspired by theoretical physics. The visual side of the series is directly inspired by cosmological simulation of the universe performed by Risa Wechsler and her team at KAVLI Institute. This piece is inspired by orbiting paths. Risa Wechsler is a professor of physics at Stanford University, director of the Kavli Institute. She combines large numerical simulations with data from the largest existing and future galaxy surveys to model and map out the evolution and contents of the Universe from its earliest moments to the present day. She and her group are mapping out tens of billions of galaxies over more than 13 billion years of the Universe's history. Artworks from this series are in minimalistic, hard edge abstract style and have roots in constructivism. Painting is stretched on a supporting wooden frame, but it is not framed. Sides are painted in the same manner as the painting so this piece is suitable to hang even without a frame. It can be as well, unmounted from the stretcher and shipped in a roll (canvas only)

Jelena Antić is an Iceland-based visual artist who originally hails from Belgrade, Serbia. She held 7 solo exhibitions and holds a Master’s degree in Painting, Mosaic, and Contemporary Art from the University of Arts in Serbia and is a member of the Icelandic Association of Artists. Her main form of visual expression is through painting but she rejects the general conventions of the medium choosing to avoid specific representations of objects or figures. Much like instrumental music without words or explanation, Her work is best described as a visual representation of feeling both thoughtful and meditative. Her aim is to give the viewers to interpret her work as they see it and to create their own narrative. Antić’s primary influences are informel, abstract expressionism and abstract minimalism inspired by concepts of theoretical physics, philosophy, and contemporary art theory. All her works exhibit a strong personal stamp, deeply influenced by her life and experience.
