This eye-catching creation captures the moment following sunset and the time it becomes dusk, when the day is ready to welcome nightfall over the crystal blue waters of the mighty ocean. Traces of sunrays left behind in the sky are artistically shown by the creator using streaks of bright orange peeping between the midnight blue skies, and the body of the ocean also takes on the same deep and intense coloration of the sky above. The Ocean at Dusk creation will make a great statement piece for your home or office that will take the viewer into a deep state of contemplation beyond the deep blue sea to the horizon it extends to. 40227-LA-MK

Abstract and vibrant patterns are the subject of Sandaruwan’s paintings. The artist sees himself as a merger of “abstract trends with a contrasting usage of color” and relies on his paintings to soothe the troubled and tired minds of the viewers. He presents the world through his craftsmanship on the canvas by developing a close kinship with the natural world, abstracts it and visualize it expressively. The art of life is made to contend with utopic patterns and textures that resurrect from the artist’s free style to create graphically striking images, allowing the physicality of nature and his abstract thoughts to reveal itself. His commercial paintings are mostly painted with acrylics because of the durability of the medium. However, he also uses oil paints, watercolors and mixed media. Sandaruwan employs a color palette and fluid style to capture the essence of his world. His great obsession with creating his own tools using everyday objects such as combs and a variety of different gadgets, characterize his paintings with abstract and elaborate textures. The concepts and ideas are enhanced by his intuition and spontaneous skill at abstracting a painting during the painting process. His work transforms standard notions of modern and abstract art into a uniquely expressive form, while his intuitive imagination rejuvenates the tired eye of the viewer with fresh color, texture and technique. Sandaruwan’s paintings merge simplicity with a fresh color scheme. The intuitive decisions he makes in his artwork lays out a complexity across the canvas, while the spontaneity of his brush-strokes, mark-making and palette knife techniques abstracts his artwork and makes them expressive and emotional. His inner impulses are splashed across the canvas in an improvisatory manner, while it is created in the hope of giving the viewer a memorable and everlasting impression. He includes the knowledge passed down to him by his father and older brother who are also artists. The simplicity of Sandaruwan’s compositions produces a more serene and meditational response in the viewer with its large areas of color and gestural strokes of paint that sums the essential harmony within the world around him. He connotates and abstracts energy, power, timelessness and divinity of nature. Instead of seeing men in his still form, he sees a man that is incomplete and abstract. It’s this great eye for abstracting his subjects that make this work unique.
