This painting is dedicated to the legent of the monks that used to exercice asceticism and separation. They were known as "Hermits" which means the monks who, after Gods call, went to the wilderness to cloister. In the early Christian times three basic routes where known to go and become a Hermit. North in England and Ireland, East in Syria and South in Egypt.
